Bio acoustic Research

We conduct a multi years research on biological and societal evolution, focusing on the ability of species to adapt to their environment.

Focusing on data collection for a program of the CIAN (University of Toulon) in a European ACCOBAMS program. Two main targets:

• engaged to build up a non invasive network of hydrophones (fixed or towed) for cetaceans' localisation to prevent from sea accidents with vessels. we do suport innovation with trials of new concepts towed by sail boats (sail carghos, leasure sailing vessels and IMOCAs) and contribute to the deployment of new tags along cetaceans migration roads.

Pelagos Sanctuary preservation

Private entities engaging in supporting our operations, can include in the HSE policies real engaged operations of preservation and CO2 reduction.

The Hydrophone Technology of CIAN (University of Toulon) called the Manta is a non invasive bioacoustic advanced technology system, we are proud to have access to and support it's development for a better understanding of orcas' evolution of behaviour in the straight of Gibraltar and the Cadix Golf.

Bioacoustics on Killer whales

As an ambassador of Pelagos sanctuary, our Vessel Veilleur d'Azur engages itself for an interaction with public and at sea contacts to protect the cetaceans of the sanctuary in the Mediteranean Sea.

The secretary of Pelagos Sanctuary has created a High Quality Whale Watching Label (HQWW) to support coherent and respectable actions at sea.
